The team at WR had a Spooktacular time!

A Halloween treat is just what the doctor’s ordered to get the team at Whittingham Riddell through those post-Summer blues.

Halloween themed activities took place across the firm’s four offices in Ludlow, Newtown, Shrewsbury and Wrexham during the week running up to Halloween, ranging creepy decorating competition, haunted quiz and bingo games, 'No Tricks just Treats' pick n mix and a cake sale. This was all in aid of raising funds for the firms chosen Charity, Mind.

It has also provided the firm's employees with a perfect opportunity to ‘Create the Buzz’, which is one of its Values. The firm, which has a strong employee centred culture, believes in enjoyment at work, which in term creates enthusiasm. When you enjoy being at work you, in turn, provide a fantastic service to your clients.

The Halloween themed decorating competition was done both on an individual and team basis with the assortment of homemade and purchased decorations transformed the office during the week running up to Halloween.

Helen Spencer, Managing Partner says “We have been blown away by the decorations and congratulate all teams on pulling out all the stops. As the week progressed there was a gradual build-up of decorations, with teams working together to what has been an outstanding outcome.”

Helen continues ‘The team’s ghoulish creations, including a dead body under a desk, a severed arm coming out of the filing cabinet, giant spiders hanging from the ceiling and cobwebs have transformed the office. I am delighted to have witnessed teams working together and enjoying taking part in something a little different. In the end, I think it became rather competitive!! It is also fantastic to be able to tie in some fundraising activities in support of chosen charity Mind.’

The firm is delighted to have raised over £300 through the Halloween themed pick n mix, a cake sale and themed quizzes and bingo and thanks go to its employees for their support.

Helen adds “as a firm we work hard to consider ways that our business and our employees can support and make a difference to the communities in which we work. Our support for local charities is one way that we do this. Earlier in the year we asked our employees to nominate a charity to support for the year. As a result, Mind was selected.”

“The charity does amazing work providing advice and support to empower anyone experiencing mental health problem. They also have regional branches based in Shropshire, Mid Wales and North Wales, which links well with our office locations. We look forward to future activities.”

Special thanks go to Alice Clarke, who was the mastermind behind the Halloween plan.
