Have you been affected by flooding?

Over the past week, the effects of Storm Dennis has resulted in flooding spread across many parts of Shropshire and neighbouring counties along the course of the River Severn.

The Environment Agency has issued multiple flood warnings across Shrewsbury, Ludlow, Hereford, Bridgnorth and North Wales. Two Hundred flood warnings are still in place across England, Scotland and Wales.

The effects of flooding can have a devastating impact on local businesses & farms, affecting livestock, buildings and homes, and equipment as well as causing structural damage and loss of crops and a reduction in income.

The floods could mean a financial impact on your business; this means you could find it beneficial to reduce your tax payments on account for the year ended 5 April 2020. This may help you with tax payments and cashflow.

If you've been affected by flooding, contact us and we can help by discussing the appropriate amount for you to pay and contact HMRC on your behalf.

The Met Office forecasts more rain and so if you think it is possible that your premises could be affected then suitable advance preparation may prove beneficial in mitigating the effects.
