Exciting times ahead for local accountants and business advisors

Jon, Heather & HelenAs 2020 begins, local accountants and business advisors Whittingham Riddell (WR) have their sights firmly set on the future.

With their sights set firmly on future growth, WR is continuing to offer excellent customer service whilst constantly evolving to ensure that their service is fit for the future. Personnel appointments and a new brand are all part of the new strategy at WR.

Over the past twelve months, the firm has experienced some exciting developments, including the promotion of Helen Spencer to Managing Partner last April. The team have been concentrating on the firm’s strategic development as it seeks to continue to build on its strong base whilst evolving to ensure that it is fit for the future, both for its employees and its clients.

With a focus on developing their structure to become more client-centred, WR has established a number of new roles having recently appointed Jonathan Glover as Finance Director and Heather Corbett being promoted to New Business Manager.

Jonathan is a qualified accountant with over 22 years’ experience working both in professional practice and industry. His extensive knowledge will be hugely beneficial to WR. Heather, as the New Business Manager, will be responsible for developing the service offering to ensure it offers collaborative, clear and straight forward business advice to existing and new clients.

These changes will all add to the support WR can give to their clients in maximizing their personal and business skills.

WR is developing their service offerings, keeping in mind that technology continues to advance at an ever-growing pace and Cloud Accounting has dramatically changed the face of the accountancy sector. For WR clients they will gain much more than just compliance as financial information becomes available in real-time. This provides more opportunity to focus on wider advisory services which will truly add value to WR’s existing offerings.

This focus on the future has also turned the spotlight to the WR brand. Building a strong brand requires a continuous commitment to understanding the qualities that define the firm. In this regard, WR believes in a strong focus on clients and the desire for excellence in everything it offers.

Managing Partner, Helen Spencer, who is a driving force behind this strategic plan comments, “A brand is not just a logo. It is a consistent positive attitude and a carefully managed experience that meets or surpasses our client and employee expectations. We are determined to continue to be relevant to clients’ futures as well as having a strong focus on our employees. It’s an exciting opportunity to stand back, review and validate the WR brand to ensure it represents our culture, our clients and our employees."

Helen continues “We are looking forward to introducing our refreshed brand and service offering to our clients during 2020.”

Helen concluded by explaining how the firm sees the value of building and maintaining this new approach, “We recognise the value of having a great company culture and this is important not only for employee engagement, happiness and retention, but also, in plotting the blueprint for a thriving business focussed on client support and client success; conscious of, but not dictated by the economic and political climate. This will ensure that we continue to be a strong and relevant business fit for the future.”
