Eilish raises £1,620 for The National Emergencies Trust

When the effects of coronavirus starting to be realised, one of our team decided to take a stand, well a seat, and ride her bike to raise money to support those in need.

The date was set, and come the 23rd May Eilish would take part in a 15-hour Wattbike challenge; riding from 7am to 10pm, to raise money for The National Emergencies Trust – Coronavirus Appeal.

However, in a turn of events in the weeks leading up to the challenge, Eilish came off her bike during training and broke the bones in her hand and bruised her ribs. But this did not stop her!

After 6 weeks of recovery she was able to get back onto her Wattbike and on Saturday the 4th of July, biked an amazing 252 miles in 15hrs, raising over £810 for The National Emergencies Trust.

The National Emergencies Trust have set up this appeal to support those most affected by COVID-19 and money raised will be distributed fairly among those most affected by the Coronavirus outbreak. Funds will go towards local charities and grass-root organisations that can provide vital support to people in the quickest way possible.

Helen Spencer, Managing Partner at WR said; “Eilish is a caring team member and her ambition to help people and businesses affected during this pandemic, came as no surprise.   "We are all extremely proud of Eilish and her achievement, and will be matching the Eilish made, bringing her total to an amazing £1,620."
